Step 2: Fee proposal

After your consultation, we prepare a fee proposal. It sets out exactly what’s involved in designing, engineering and getting approval for your project, and what it’ll cost. No vague estimates. Just a clear outline of the work and the fees.

01

What’s in your fee proposal

[CLIENT TO CONFIRM: fee proposal contents and whether any fees are credited towards the build.]

  • The scope of design, drafting and engineering work
  • The approvals your project is likely to need
  • Reports and consultants required, such as a soil report or land survey
  • Our fees and how they’re structured
  • Expected authority and application fees
  • An estimated timeframe for the design and approvals stage
02

Why we price design separately

Designing and engineering a home properly takes time and expertise. By pricing this stage on its own, you get a clear commitment for the work needed to get your plans approved, before you commit to building. And it means your final build quote is based on real plans.

03

Questions are welcome

If anything in your fee proposal isn’t clear, ask us. We’d rather you understand exactly what you’re agreeing to.

04

What happens next

If you’re happy with the fee proposal, we’ll send you an engagement agreement to get started.
